5 Single-key shortcuts to use while presenting
Google slides has several built-in keyboard shortcuts that make presenting smoother, easier, and more interactive.
Before you dive into the shortcuts, try these tips to quickly launch your presentation:
- Start presenting from slide 1: Press Ctrl + F5
- Start presenter view: Press Ctrl + Shift + Enter
- Share your deck: Change the word /edit at the end of the web address to /present. Anyone clicking the link will open the slides in full-screen presentation mode.
Once your presentation is live, these shortcuts are really handy!
1. Press (L) for a Laser Pointer
Pressing L while presenting will turn your cursor into a glowing red laser pointer. Press L again to turn it off.2. Press (A) for Audience Q&A
Press A to launch Google Slides’ built-in Q&A tool, which displays a short web link at the top of your slides.3. Press (B) for Blackout / (W) for Whiteout
Press B to temporarily turn your screen black, or W to turn it white. Press the key again to return to your slide.4. Press (S) for Speaker Notes
Press (S) to open a separate presenter window displaying your talking points, a live timer, and next-slide previews.5. Press (slide # + Enter) to Jump to Any Slide
Type a slide number and hit Enter (e.g., 6 + Enter) and it will go directly to that slide.Give L, A, B, S a test drive during your next Extension webinar or team meeting!
