How to set Google Forms to close by date or response count

Google has added two features to Google Forms that allow you to set a specific date and time to close the form, or set a certain number of responses that trigger the form to close automatically. Previously, these features had to be done manually, or you had to use a different tool.

How to use the new features

Note: These options are only available in a Published form.
  1. Open your form and click Published
  2. Click Set close date or response limit
Set close date or limit responses

  3. Select On a date to select a date and time to close the form or select After a number of responses to enter a response limit
Select On a date or After a number of responses. Click edit message to customize the response
  4.  Click Edit Message (pen) to edit the message that is displayed when the form is closed for responses
  5. Click Save
