Tackling Accessibility in the Google Workspace with Grackle

Does the thought of making your Google Docs, Slides, or Sheets accessible feel overwhelming? If you’ve opened the checker and wondered where to begin, you’re not alone. Because accessibility is everyone’s responsibility, having helpful tools like Grackle can make the process smoother. In early December, the Accessibility Ambassadors hosted a 45-minute webinar about Grackle, the accessibility checker for Google Workspace. Here is the recording

In this session, presenters walked through how Grackle can simplify your accessibility workflow and support you in creating content that works for all learners. You’ll learn how to:
  • See real before-and-after examples that highlight Grackle’s impact
  • Understand the most common accessibility issues across Docs, Slides, and Sheets
  • Navigate the Grackle interface step-by-step to find and fix errors
  • Get answers to your questions during a dedicated Q&A segment
This session was presented by staff from the University's Office for Digital Accessibility (ODA): Luke Kudryashov, Senior Digital Accessibility Analyst and Deputy ADA Coordinator. DM Lavoie, Academic Technologist in ATSS and the ODA. Khaled Musa, Director of the ODA
