Clipboard History is simple and useful!

Windows Clipboard History

Have you ever wanted to go back and retrieve something you copied to your clipboard hours ago? Or maybe you accidentally overwrote something important with a new copy? Windows Clipboard History keeps your last 25 copied text and images (in your current session) to reuse later.

My favorite and most-used keyboard shortcuts are Ctrl + C (copy) and Ctrl + V (paste). The downside is that it only copies one item at a time. Clipboard History enhances this by letting you:
  • Recall older items: Recover text, links, or images you copied earlier in your session
  • Save time: No need to copy and paste the same thing multiple times
  • Be more efficient: Keep multiple clipboard items available
  • Pin Key Items: Save frequently used items for future use

Using Clipboard History

Press Windows logo key Windows keyboard icon+ V  to open the Clipboard History panel. Note: if it is not enabled on your computer, you can enable it by clicking Turn On.
  • Browse and Paste: Scroll through your copied items and select the one you want to paste.
  • Pin Items: Click the pushpin icon next to any item you want to save permanently.
  • Clear History: At the bottom of the Clipboard History panel, click Clear All to remove everything except pinned items.
The Clipboard history gets cleared each time you restart your PC, except for items you’ve pinned.

  2. This is amazing and super helpful - I had no idea it existed! I recall the Clipboard history from some older version of Office - but I don't recall it working very well. The keyboard shortcut makes this a game changer!

    1. It was available in Win 10 but I never used it. I need to remember to pin the ones I want to keep around for awhile.
