Educational video resources for you!

Educational video resources
Creating educational videos does not have to be an overwhelming task. The complexity of creating a video really depends on the size of your project. Narrated presentations, screencasts, micro videos, and animated gifs are a few examples of the types of videos that are often created for educational purposes.  Extension Learning Technologies has several resources available to help you with your educational video projects.

Quality educational videos

Educational videos have instructional intentions and do not have to be professionally produced by a videographer to be considered high quality. Extension Learning Technologies has developed a set of quality criteria for planning and producing an accessible, high quality educational video. The quality criteria for educational video is a tool for assessing the effectiveness of new and existing educational video.

This quality review tool is used by Extension professionals working toward excellence in online teaching. The criteria are part of the foundational ELT Framework for Quality Digital Learning

Extension Video Production Guide

While the video production process will vary based on the style, content, timeline, effort and budget, there are some basic building blocks that are common among all video projects. The process can be broken down into three major sections: pre-production, production and post-production.
Extension Learning Technologies has a video production guide to help you through the process of creating educational videos.

Educational vs. promotional or high quality production

Our video guide is intended as a resource for creating your own educational videos, not promotional or high-quality production video that are often produced by a professional videographer. It is recommended you contact your Extension center communications contact or Extension Learning Technology team to discuss your video project as soon as you can in the planning process.
