Calling all Extension Canvas users!
The UDoIt tool in Canvas is available for you to scan your course sites for accessibility issues and easily address them. UDoIt is an acronym for Universal Design Online Content Inspection Tool.
UDoIt scans for:
- Use of headings in page structure
- Alternative text for images
- Link syntax, and vague link names.
- Table headers
- Color contrast
- Video captions
- Alerts of PDF files present
Once errors are found, UDoIt helps you easily navigate to the issue and fix it!
With this tool and the core skills you’ve learned about accessibility, you’ll not only fix old issues in your course that could trip up those using assistive technologies, you’ll also learn how to prevent those issues as you add content and develop new courses.
