Extension video resources for you!

Creating educational videos does not have to be an overwhelming task. The complexity of creating a video really depends on the size of your project. Narrated presentations, screencasts, microvideos, and animated gifs are a few examples of the types of video that are often created for educational purposes.

While the video production process will vary based on the style, content, timeline, effort and budget, there are some basic building blocks that are common among all video projects. The process can be broken down into three major sections: pre-production, production and post-production. Extension Learning Technology has created a video production guide to help you through the process of creating educational videos.

Educational vs. promotional or high quality production

Our video guide is intended as a resource for creating your own educational videos, not promotional or high-quality production video that should potentially be produced by a professional videographer. It is recommended you contact your Extension center communications contact or Extension Learning Technology team to discuss your video project as soon as you can in the planning process.
